Retreat Information
ponder the consoling mystery that God's deepest longing is to dwell in each of us and to make a home in our souls. But rather than approach this amazing truth conceptually or abstractly, we will consider contemplatively how God has been present and faithful throughout the course of each of our priestly lives, even when we have failed to notice or have fallen short!
A deeper appreciation of this amazing mystery allows us to rest in the conviction that life is much more than a series of problems to be solved – whether in ourselves, in the church, or in the world – but rather a gift to be savored and shared.
Director
Fr. Dan Hartnett spent 25 years in Peru where he combined parish work among the economically poor with teaching at university. Returning to Chicago, he served as pastor of Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Waukegan and then as pastor of Bellarmine Chapel at Xavier University in Cincinnati. Currently, Fr. Dan assists with the theological training of Spanish-speaking deacons and serves as chaplain for both the Ignatian Volunteer Corps and Solidarity Bridge.

Retreat Information
Whether you are approaching 70 years old or have remained in full-time ministry beyond your 70th birthday, there is a lot to consider in the unique reality of “retirement” as a priest. This short retreat considers the spiritual, psychological, physical, and financial realities of retirement, and reviews the resources the Archdiocese provides. This is an opportunity to pray, reflect, learn, and share in some fellowship with veteran priests.
Director
Fr. Ken Simpson has served in the Archdiocese for more than 45 years—as Dean of Formation, Chaplain of Sheil Catholic Center, and pastor of St. Clement. In recent years, Fr. Ken’s focus has been on priests’ personal and professional development.
